The TRUTH about AHA’s
You’ve heard about them in skin care, but what are they? How do they work? What do they do?
AHA stands for Alpha Hydroxy Acids and they are molecules found in a variety of fruits. They work by exfoliating your skin, peeling away the layers to reveal a brighter complexion. They disintegrate the ‘glue’ that hold the dead and dry skin cells to the surface of your skin. By removing this barrier, your other skincare products are then able to work on the newly visible skin.
Benefits of AHA’s.
- Increases the skin’s luminosity
- Improves skin texture
- Gives a smoother, softer look
- Produces an even colour tone, which includes reduction of pigmentation and age spots
- Visibly reduces enlarged pores
- Controls excessive oiliness
- Smoothes blemished, troubled skin and acne
- Reduces the appearance of fine lines

Your Guide To Happiness Part 6

For every minute you are angry, you lose sixty seconds of happiness. ~Author Unknown
There is no point being sad or upset. Even in moments of anger, it’s important to think about whether the situation merits your feelings or whether you are overreacting. Chances are 80% of the time there are other ways you can tackle the disagreements that keep you less emotionally involved. Developing happy habits make for a better life.
Love Unconditionally
Accept others for who they are. Don’t put limitations on your love. Even though you may not always like the actions of your loved ones – you continue to love them.
Persistence
Never give up. Face each new challenge with the attitude that it will bring you one step closer to your goal. You will never fail, as long as you never give up. Focus on what you want, learn the required skills, make a plan to succeed and take action. We are always happiest while pursuing something of value to us.
Be Proactive
Accept what can not be changed. Happy people don’t waste energy on circumstances beyond their control. Accept your limitations as a human being. Determine how you can take control by creating the outcome you desire – rather than waiting to respond.

Your Guide To Happiness Part 5

Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realise they were the big things. ~Robert Brault
Every so often we can look back on life and realise that there were many moments where we took for granted the little moments. Some of these moments could in fact have been life changing events. It’s mostly little children that remember these moments and appreciate them for what they are. So take notice of what’s going on around you and be appreciative of today. Your happiness habits will one day become things you don’t even have to think about.
Meditate
Meditate simply means to relax and take rest. When you relax your energy levels are replenished and you are able to function better. Find something you enjoy doing such as yoga, pilates, relaxation cd’s or just sitting in complete silence and practice daily. If you can spend ten minutes a day in quiet meditation, you will soon notice a huge difference.
Mind Your Own Business
Concentrate on creating your life the way you want it. Take care of you and your family. Don’t get overly concerned with what other people are doing or saying. Don’t get caught up with gossip or name calling. Don’t judge. Everyone has a right to live their own life the way they want to – including you.
Optimism
See the glass as half full. Find the positive side of any given situation. It’s there – even though it may be hard to find. Know that everything happens for a reason, even though you may never know what the reason is. Steer clear of negative thoughts. If a negative thought creeps in – replace it with a positive thought.

Your Guide To Happiness Part 4

The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else up.
~Mark Twain
If you’re feeling miserable, pay someone a compliment. Take notice of whether someone you know has a new hair cut and compliment them on it. Take special care to thank sales assistants for their help in the store – it may be their job to be there, but you can thank them for their smile and courteous assistance. Just think – they might be needing a few kind words just as much as you are. It doesn’t cost anything to be nice.
Gratitude
Develop an attitude of gratitude. Count your blessings; all of them – even the things that seem trivial. Be grateful for your home, your work and most importantly your family and friends. Take the time to tell them that you are happy they are in your life.
Invest in Relationships
Always make sure your loved ones know you love them even in times of conflict. Nurture and grow your relationships with your family and friends by making time to spend with them. Don’t break your promises to them. Be supportive.
Keep Your Word
Honesty is the best policy. Every action and decision you make should be based on honesty. Be honest with yourself and with your loved ones.
