The Secret Ingredients That Can Save Your Skin

By Grace Cosmetics

Aloe Vera Skin Cream

The skin is actually the largest organ of the human body and absorbs high levels of substances that it comes in contact with. It is estimated that our skin absorbs 60% of chemicals it touches. Many more of us are becoming aware of what we eat in terms of avoiding synthetic ingredients so surely the same should apply to our skincare.

By using natural and botanical products we can drastically reduce the amount of chemicals we absorb.

It is very important when choosing skincare, to have a look at what ingredients are used because these will be absorbed by your skin. Our number 1 ingredient is Organic Aloe Vera.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera, Polysaccharides
Modern science has not been able to synthetically manufacture the polysaccharides in Aloe Vera. They are unique to the Aloe Vera Plant and provide the basis for many of the outstanding results to the body both internally and externally.

Moisturisation and cohesion

Most of the moisture in the skin comes from the deep inner dermis layers and goes out to the exterior through the skin. If you could create a barrier of some sort, and lessen the amount of water which is leaving then your skin would remain moist for a greater period of time. The polysaccharides in aloe vera naturally create this moisture barrier in the skin.

Penetration and Absorption

In independent laboratory studies it is proven that by using aloe in a product instead of water you achieve three times the penetration and absorption. Grace Cosmetics understands this, meticulously combining other proven natural and botanical nutrients into its formulations for the best results on the skin.

Anti-inflammatory

Testing has proven the reduction of pain, swelling and redness associated with sprains and strains as well as acne and a variety of the skin blemishes.

Protection from UV Rays: Strengthening of the skin’s immune function

When the skin sustains sunburn the immune cells in your skin are completely destroyed. Clinical study has found when the aloe gel is applied to the surface of the skin the immune cells were protected, providing full immune function. Also ageing spots were reduced with the application of Aloe. The studies also showed that Aloe provides the skin with constant rejuvenation and reverses the process of sun damage helping the skin at a cellular level.

Anti-ageing properties

Collagen is the skin’s basic support structure that keeps it firm and supple. When we age, the collagen production in the skin slows down, eventually ceasing. Inevitably, with age, and a depletion of collagen, the epidermis becomes wrinkled, creviced and thin. Many other cosmetic and skincare products, though promising anti-ageing results do little more than just hydrate the skin for brief periods. The production of collagen was not stimulated so facial lines and the evidence of ageing remains the same. However, when aloe is used on the skin, its penetration deep into the skin will stimulate the skin’s fibroblasts to produce collagen and reverse the visible signs of ageing.

Why You Should Be Using The Envelope Theory

By Grace Cosmetics

Save money with the Envelope TheoryEnsuring you always have a little extra cash for the things you want.

Budgeting is not everyone’s cup of tea, but for those style savvy ladies out there, having a little extra cash when you find that perfect item can be the icing on the cake.

Try the envelope theory:

Practical tips for budgeting in style.

  1. Look at your monthly earnings and write out a list of all your known bills. Add $100 per month for incidentals.
  2. List your typical monthly expenses such as grocery bills, gym memberships, savings, toiletries, hobbies etc.
  3. Purchase up to 10 brightly coloured envelopes. These will be your spending files.
  4. Set up a direct debit account to have your weekly bills coming straight out of your account. If you don’t see the money sitting there, you will be less likely to spend it.
  5. Write out a weekly menu and add your items to your grocery list. Put your weekly allotted cash in an envelope marked “groceries.”
  6. Mark an envelope as “take-away/ restaurants” and only add enough cash to cover one meal. This will be your new weekly budget.
  7. Add a “Shopping” envelope for stylish purchases. Decide how much you can afford to spend at the beginning of the week to avoid spontaneous purchases.
  8. Have a “Cash Allowance” envelope for every member of the family. Paying in cash for everything will help you keep track of spending as well as save on ATM fees. If you have children, give them their own envelope to put their pocket money in weekly and allow them to choose whether to save or spend on your next shopping trip. The “half/half” method is a great way to begin teaching them how to account for their money. Put half into a savings account for them and allow them to choose what to spend the other half on – whether it be a new toy or a lunchbox snack.
  9. Keep an envelope for spare change you have at the end of the day. You won’t believe how quickly your silver coins can add up over the space of a month. Use this money for something special for yourself as a reward for your budgeting.

Slumber in Dreamland

By Grace Cosmetics

Old Mobile PhoneAre you waking up with headaches or finding it difficult to sleep? By making a few small changes to your bedroom, you can easily turn it into a calming and relaxed environment. Did you know that having electromagnetic pollution too close to your body can stimulate the nervous system? This means that your digital alarm clock, stereo, wireless modem/telephone and mobile phone may be inhibiting your sleep. Try opting for an analogue clock and charge your phone in another room, and move modems/telephones away from your bed. If you tend to wake up with a headache, try putting heavier curtains over your window to diminish the bright morning light and if you’re alarm clock is set to wake you with an annoying shrill, opt for one that begins softly and gets louder the longer you leave it.

candy CaneWith the holiday season coming to a close, it’s also time to say goodbye to the sugar overload we all indulged in over the break. Here’s some handy hints on how to kick those cravings.

- Ensure you eat regular meals and keep healthy snacks, such as small cheese wedges, carrots and snowpeas with you.
